Farewell 21, hello 22
Today — actually right about *now* — there are 22 years since I blessed the world with my arrival. A selfless sacrifice, even though I say so myself, because the lot of you can be quite the burden sometimes! Don’t take me too seriously, I’m only half as good as I say I am, and half as bad as you think I am.
Right now I’m sitting in Kaffi Karólína, enjoying the last drops of a bottle of pepsi max, which reminds me, time for a refill.
Ah, that’s better. Today I swung by Brimbürgh Akureyri, to get the little plastic bushing I need, and was promised yesterday, would arrive here today. Naturally it hadn’t arrived, but it should do so tomorrow, so then finally I can fix my car properly, and make use of the new tyres I got on saturday.
Today I drove my mothers ‘98 mercedes E280 4-Matic, for the first time. Four wheel drive, and an automatic, this car is not really “me”, but naturally it feels good to drive, very safe in every way, and sticks to the road really well. I took a semi-hard drive up the Gulch here in Akureyri, with my mother frantically begging me to slow down, and it went like it was glued to the road. The 2.8L V6 cylinder engine develops 204bhp @5700 and 270Nm @3000. Naturally, being a big car, 4WD, and automatic, it felt slower than my focus, but fun could be had.
But yes, today I’m 22, and I have to say that my 21st year which I’ve just seen off was rather good to me, I’ve switched jobs, I’ve learned quite a bit more how to fix cars, I’ve seen good friends have their lives turn for the better, I’ve experienced heartbreak and freedom, and all in all just grown as a person. I can only hope my 22nd year will be as fruitful as my 21st was.

Oh and one more thing, if I don’t answer my phones today, it’s because one is out of battery, and the other one is 99% out of battery. I’ll get to charge them tonight, courtesy of my cousins wife — thank god *someone* has a Sony Ericsson phone besides me!
Akureyri feels like “Nokia Country” when it comes to gsm phones.
